We've got another update for all of the Forgotten Hope mod fans out there. First off I'd like to start off with a little bit of community news.

First on the agenda is news relating to a new Forgotten Hope ladder starting up in Australia and New Zealand, here's a bit of the email that was sent to us.

The Australian Expeditionary Forces, in partnership with OGN, IINET, are starting a Forgotten Hope Ladder Competition in Australia/New Zealand. The AEF/OGN Forgotten Hope Ladder will be sponsored by IINET and will be hosted by the AEF/OGN Servers.

We are currently receiving expressions of interest from clans and individuals in Australia and New Zealand and to register your interest simply visit the OGN Forgotten Hope forum.

The Australian Expeditionary Forces, with the express permission of the Forgotten Hope Development team, are the official Southern Hemisphere distributors of Forgotten Hope and any clan or individual requiring a free copy of Forgotten Hope on CD can go to the AEF website and register.

We also have received word that another server is working with clans and match play for Forgotten Hope, check out Forgottenhope.net for more information, perhaps they offer something you've always wanted in a server

It's really hard for the team to express in words all of the support we've received since we began doing this, and seeing these math play sites springing up, the only thing we can do is, well, produce more content for you all!

Today we'd like to showcase three new renders that will be included in the next patch to Forgotten Hope.

First up we have adjusted the panzerschrek model, by adding the blast shield found on many of them. This blast shield will be used in tandem with a more realistit sighting system for Anti Tank weapons! Check it out below, the adjustments were done by Lobo.

We also have a new static object that will be included, this is a model of a coal mine, done by Lobo as well.

And last, but definately not least, we have finally brought the British Universal Carrier ingame, check it out below. This model was done by Omni and the texture work was done by Aaron Ash.

Well that's all for this update, but be sure to stay tuned for more content updates from the Forgotten Hope team.

Welcome back to the next installment in our series of weekly updates leading up to the release of the 0.66 patch of Forgotten Hope! We have a few new renders to show off for today showcasing a few of the new infantry weapons making their way into this next patch.

First up we'd like to show off two of our newest anti tank rifles! The British Boyes anti tank rifle and the famous Soviet PTRD-41 Anti Tank rifle. Both of these new weapons will give infanty a very long arm for dealing with those pesky tanks on the battlefield. The Boyes was modelled by Montoya and skinned by Jackalx2k and the PTRD-41 was modelled and skinnned by McGibs.

We'd also like to show off another hard hitting weapon, the Winchester Shotgun, modelled and skinned by Lobo!

We'd also like to post a little reminder to all of the mappers out there working hard on the mapping contest submissions. The deadline is the 26th of November which means that there are still 3 weeks to get your submission done and sent in to Armin Ace. We're looking forward to seeing all the hard work that you have been putting into these maps, and hope to be able to include many of them in the fan map pack! If this is the first you've heard of this contest, or you need to see more details, go here.

That's all for this weeks news update, soon we will be pushing out the patch that fixes the Pacific Map problems along with a content update, so stay tuned for more information on that!

New Vehicles Inbound

Welcome back to another update from the Forgotten Hope Mod team! I'm happy to announce that after a slight break we're going to be doing weekly news update in anticipation of the release of the next patch for Forgotten Hope. This patch will be fixing many of the bugs we've found in the previous release. However that's not everything, we're also going to be including new content, including 1 or 2 new maps, and several new vehicles and hand weaopns, plus a number of remodelled and retextured equipment! Every patch is another step forward in the quality level of this mod.

First up I'd like to present the redone Crusader Mk I British tank, modelling done by Omni and skinning by Aaron Ash. This tank is yet another of our early tanks that has been completely redone to match the high quality of the rest of our models and skins!

Our second model being presented today is the North American A-36A Apache, which was the first incarnation of the "Mustang". This dive bomber served in the skys over the African front and the Italian front, although it was later replaced by the P-51 mustang and the p 47 thunderbolt as they were better suited to the role. There were about 500 of these aircraft made by 1943.

Also if you hadn't noticed yet, we've begun updating the map section of the mod's webpage, this is still a work in progress, but i'm hoping to have it all completed by the next update to the news page. So head on over to our maps section and check it out, all of our current custom maps are in there.

That's all for today's news update folks, but stop on back next weekend for another update from the Forgotten Hope team! And a small reminder, there are less than 30 days left until all sumissions for our custom fan map pack are due in, so get cranking on those maps and send them our way!

Custom mappers report in!

We've got some good news for all of you mappers out there today! As with every major release of Forgotten Hope, we're compiling a custom fan map pack release for the mod.

If you've previously released a map in earlier fan map packs then update your map so that it works with version 0.65. If you don't have a map and would like to submit one there is still plenty of time to do so, so get workin!

Your final submission should be a .zip or .rar file containing the following:

A readme.txt file with all of your contact information, plus any info you'd like to convey about the map. This readme must also include an agreement allowing Forgotten Hope to distribute the map, as well as make changes if necessary.

The map itself, either a working .rfa file or an uncompressed directory. Either or is fine, however the map must work with Forgotten Hope version 0.65.

All maps must be free of swastika's or other symbols deemed illegal throughout the world (if you're changing skin files for your map). This ensures that we can distribute the map pack all over

If your map meets the above criteria then pack it up and get ahold of ArminAce in one of the following manners

MSN/Email: ArminAce@aol.com

ICQ: 82811360

Only the best maps will be included in this fan map pack. The deadline for all submissions is the 26th of November, so there is plenty of time to start a map now and get it finished in time! The person who submits the best map will be given a prize, to be disclosed at a later date.

One thing to keep in mind, using content in your map from any mod other than Forgotten Hope, game, or something that is not yours is grounds for automatic disqulification. We only want original content.

Also keep in mind that any mapper that really shines, and their map has not been given out to other people may be given the option of including their map as part of the common Forgotten Hope download. There is a weath of information at your disposal if you're having questions about mapping, just stop on by our public forums and ask away. There's always an expert mapper hanging out on our boards!
