Desert Dog

Hello and welcome back to the first update of the Forgotten Hope Mod for the year 2006. We know it has been a bit quiet around Forgotten Hope in the last weeks - due to real life issues (work, illness etc.) and vacation time, we just couldn't make it. We apologize for that, and hope that you had a pleasing Christmas and a good start into the new year anyway.

Now we hope to resume to the old and proven procedure of weekly updates. For today, we have the first ingame shots of a scout car, that got its name from the Dingo, a type of Australian wild dog, which was probably descended from the Indian wolf. Like its namesake, the Dingo Scout car was small, tough, could go anywhere and not be easily noticed. With a top off-road speed of 88 km/h, you will be long gone before the Germans realize your were even there. Now take a seat and enjoy the ride...

That's all for today folks. We hope you enjoyed the update and we would like to invite you to Visit our public forums to discuss this update. Hope to see you at the next update!

Hello and welcome back to another update of the Forgotten Hope Mod. First of all we have an offer for all community websites. If your page wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, keeping you informed of when news updates will be released, write an email to BUG$.

Today's item is an American tank, which you will find throughout the North African Theater in Forgotten Hope 2. But before you wonder why we are showing an American vehicle despite the fact we said that the first release will feature the British and German forces only, give us a chance to explain. The British forces had a major problem in the early stages of the war - a grave shortage of tanks. The solution was to ask the USA if they would help out by producing British tanks. But as the National Defense Advisory Committee felt that the British would soon be defeated, they refused. So there was only one option left: The British had to buy American tanks.

In October 1940 the first orders were placed. A little later 2 versions of the M3 were delivered to the British Army. The standard M3, called 'Lee', and the slightly modified version with the radio in the turret instead of in the hull with a cast turret, named the 'Grant'. The latter version was sent to North Africa and will see action within the first release of Forgotten Hope 2. The first 200 Grants were delivered in early 1942 and fought in the battle of Gazala during May 1942 under the command of the 4th Armoured Brigade. In the near future you will get the chance to take command of this tank "produced" by our American assembly line factory workers Lude and OMNI.

That's all for this week folks. Feel welcome to Visit our public forums to discuss this update. And if you enjoyed this news update don't forget to give us a visit next time when it is time to once again say, "Hello and welcome back to another update of the Forgotten Hope Mod".

Hello and welcome back to another update of the Forgotten Hope Mod. Another week has passed and we have some progress to show. And as we know many of you are eager to get their hands on Forgotten Hope 2. But before asking for release dates you should be aware that very much effort has to be put into everything concerning FH2. And after you have seen this update you will understand why it'll be worth the wait. But before we come to the interesting stuff we have something on our own account.

MOD DATABASE V3 has started the search for the best mods of '05. If you think Forgotten Hope deserves this prize it is time for you to vote now. You can do so here.

Now that you have voted, we have two British weapons in stock for you today. Probably you remember them very well from Forgotten Hope for Battlefield 1942 - and if you are in doubt you see the same weapons today as they were within FH, no one will blame you for that. It's just that McGibs and D_Fast did an excellent job with the creation of the Lee Enfield No.4 Mk 1 and the Thompson M1928A1 better known as Tommygun. Both guns have been made from scratch and the result is a must see! And we think that you now do understand why FH2 is that much time consuming in creation.

That's all for this week, but be sure to come back for another newsupdate next week. And don't forget to to visit our public forums to discuss this update. Oh - and if you haven't voted yet - don't forget to do it. Best would be you do so now. ;)

Lara's Paradise

Hello and welcome back to another update of the Forgotten Hope Mod. (You can't imagine how much I missed that sentence *g* Anyway...) for today we want to continue with revealing some more footage of the upcoming Forgotten Hope 2.

As you all know the first campaign of FH2 will be the North African one. And as this campaign cannot be done with only vehicles and uniforms, there was and will be much effort put into atmospherics as well. The first object we would like to show today is a bunker made conjointly by Lobo and Rad. Hopefully, it will serve you well as shelter in the storm and will not only be a structure you associate with sudden death, because you were admiring this beauty too long from the outside.

Second and last object of interest for today is "Lara's paradise" created by Rad. Most likely you won't sneak in there to raid this tomb, but to hide from the enemy or to hunt down the ones trying to do so. These ways or another - the African desert will shine even brighter with the tomb placed on a map.

That's all for this week, but be sure to come for some more news. Until then, feel free to visit our public forums to discuss this update and other news.
