Dirty Vickers10.07.2006 20:00 GMT Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Before we get started with the regular news we are happy to announce the addition of our newest team member Killi Vanilli. He is an experienced commercial animator who will be bringing his professional experience to Forgotten Hope 2. Let’s have a warm welcome for Killi Vanilli! Let get started with the first item for today--the Vickers Mark VI light tank, shown ingame for the first time. Introduced in 1935, these tanks were designed mainly as reconnaissance vehicles. The Vickers was equipped with twin Vickers machine guns 0.50 and 0.303 inch (12.7 mm-and 7.92 mm) - and was lightly armoured, so it was at major disadvantage against most enemy tanks. Nevertheless, it can provide significant mobile firepower against enemy infantry, making it a useful tool on the FH2 battlefield. The Mark VI B, version of the Vickers was found on most battlefields where British forces saw combat, throughout the early war period This vehicle was modeled and skinned by Montoya and coded by ctz. It bears a camouflage style typical of early war British desert forces. The second item we have for you this update is a bunker with an attached trench system. In the difficult supply conditions of the desert, this kind of permanent structure represented a large investment of time and materials. The bunker and trench system were modeled and skinned by Lobo. That's all for this week, but be sure to come next week for our next update. Until then, feel free to visit our IRC channel and our public forums to discuss this update and other news. Eye of the Hurricane03.07.2006 20:00 GMT Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Today we would like to start with a new static model - a Roman style temple. The entire North African littoral had been Roman territory at one time, and the remains of their presence dot the landscape, from Morocco to Egypt. This temple will provide atmosphere as well as cover for the maps in which it appears. Look forward to close-quarters infantry combat or perhaps just a place to hide from enemy tanks. The temple was made by Lobo and Rad and Lobo alone is all responsible for the ruins. Also note that Rad spent the week off-roading through the desert in the civilian truck. The second item for this weeks update we have for you is the Hawker Hurricane Mk. II C. The Rolls Royce Merlin XX engine delivered 1280 ps and allowed for a maximum speed of 550 km/h. Introduced as fighter aircraft it was later changed to the fighter-bomber role as it was superseded by later generations of fighter aircraft. But with its four 20mm cannons, and its tough construction, it was not to be underestimated. The Hurricane was modeled and skinned by Lobo and exported and coded by ctz. That's all for this week, but be sure to come next week for our next update. Until then, feel free to visit our IRC channel and our public forums to discuss this update and other news. Mapper's delight26.06.2006 19:00 GMT Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope. Today, for a change, we are not showing any new engines of destruction. Instead we are focusing on some tasty items will help the FH2 mapping team give their work variety and realism. First though, we want to welcome Bizness to the Forgotten Hope team. Bizness is well known to the FH community for having created Road to Ramelle for Map packs number 5 and 6, as well as building the AI code many of the other Map Pack maps. Let's all give him a warm welcome! Let's get the "new goodies" portion this update started with the civilian truck created by Mange and updated for FH2 by Rad. Lack of motorized transport was a severe problem for all sides in the campaign for North Africa. Just as in real life, this vehicle is likely to be commandeered for military use. Next we have some more statics that will do a add to the atmosphere and tactical options on Forgotten Hope 2's maps. The African villa is not only an attractive place to visit, but also a handy place to set up a antiaircraft gun. The villa itself was made by FH betatester Toddel, the jerricans lying around are by Rad, Lobo provid ammo crates and tank barriers and the additional furniture you can see was done by Malsa. We would like to finish the news with an artillery emplacement plus camo net created by Lobo. With a little luck it may give you enough cover to get in the first shot, and enough protection to survive for a second. That's all for this week, but be sure to come next week for our next update. Until then, feel free to visit our IRC channel our public forums to discuss this update and other news. |
